MEET THE MAKER
Christopher Green – Hippie Indian Soap Co.
I’m Christopher Green, the maker behind Hippie Indian Soap Co., based out of Sulphur, Louisiana.
My journey into soapmaking started as a way to heal and create after returning home from the service. What began as a therapeutic craft slowly grew into a business rooted in resilience, heritage, and love for nature.
As someone with Native American roots, my family line traces back to Don Antonio Gil Y’Barbo, the founder of Nacogdoches, Texas. Carrying that history forward, I wanted to build something that honored both my heritage and the earth. That’s why every bar of soap I make is inspired by traditional herbology, natural clays, plant-based oils, and clean ingredients that reconnect us with the land.
The “Hippie” in our name reflects my love for groovy color, music, and free-spirited living. The “Indian” honors my heritage, a reminder that what we put on our skin should come from the earth, not a lab. Together, it’s a brand built on authenticity, creativity, and wellness.
We launched with a signature line of four soaps—Mystic Mint, Earth Warrior, Tribal Smoke, and Cosmic Rain—each designed not just as a bar of soap, but as a story. Whether it’s the grounding strength of Earth Warrior with cedarwood and sandalwood, the smoky ancient soul of Tribal Smoke, or the refreshing ocean-inspired clean of Cosmic Rain, every bar carries its own character.
From ordering organic raw butters, clays, and herbs in bulk, to pouring and curing bars by hand in my home studio, this business has been built from the ground up. What started with a few molds has now grown into a registered LLC, stocked in local shops, and shared worldwide through our website hippieindiansoap.com
At its core, Hippie Indian Soap Co. is about more than soap—it’s about honoring heritage, embracing resilience, and reconnecting with nature in a groovy, skin-loving way.
